Honored at United Cerebral Palsy Suffolk Gala Dinner Dance

Sayville, NY - October 2, 2009. The UCP of Suffolk 2009 Gala Dinner Dance is being held on Friday, October 24, 2008, at Flowerfield in St. James, New York. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m. and dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. This year, Colleen West, Chair of the Board of Directors, is being honored. The celebration will also recognize and honor Polly and Michael Neyssen who will receive the Life without Limits Award for 2009. Murray Winter will also be honored with the 2009 Life without Limits Award, posthumously.

Colleen began her 2-year term as Chair of the Board of Directors in January, 2009, after having volunteered countless hours of her time to UCP over the prior 5 years. She dedicates and devotes her time to UCP, raising awareness about disabilities and the challenges faced by UCP.s participants, attending events, and supporting the organization through her leadership, innovative ideas, and networking efforts.

Colleen is the Founder and President of Enright Court Reporting, Inc. Returning to school in her late 20s, as a the newly single mother of two young children, she began her career as a court reporter in 1989 and established Enright Court Reporting, Inc. in 1991. Through her vision and commitment, the agency has grown to a staff of more than thirty and is recognized as one of the most reliable, accurate, and professional agencies serving Long Island and the New York Metropolitan area.

Colleen purchased a franchise for transcription services in 1998 and, under her leadership, the franchise transitioned to an alliance program which now consists of 50 independently-owned transcription companies throughout the nation. She is the sole owner of Enright Sten-Tel Transcription Services, Inc., a Web-based company providing transcription services to a broad range of professions including hospitals, large medical practices, and law firms and is ranked among the top 3 out of the 50 Sten-Tel transcription companies nationwide.

A recognized business leader, Colleen sits on several advisory boards, including the Long Island Business Institute and both the Sayville and Patchogue Chambers of Commerce. In January 2009, she began a 2-year term as the Chair of the Board of Directors of United Cerebral Palsy of Suffolk. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Bob Venero Children's Foundation, and volunteers her time to the Cody Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities at Stony Brook University and Splashes of Hope. She is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners by whom she has been honored, the National Association of Female Executives and numerous other professional organizations. Colleen has been featured on Cablevision's "Women of the New Century" and was inducted into the 2008 Energeia Partnership . The Academy for Regional Stewardship at Molloy College. She was named one of Long Island.s 50 Most Influential Women by Long Island Business News in 2008 and was the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk (VIBS) 2006 honoree.

Colleen is a graduate of the Long Island Business Institute and the Dale Carnegie Institute. Her commitment to UCP Suffolk and her determination to create Life Without Limits for people with disabilities is unsurpassed. Colleen lives in Bayport with her husband, Steve, and is the very proud mother of two daughters, Shannon and Erin.
